Many healthcare workers in our state continue to struggle to pay their living expenses
HARTFORD - Members of the Faith & Power Assembly are urging lawmakers to take action on wages, health insurance, and childcare access for Connecticut’s healthcare providers who continue to be left further and further behind. Too many caregivers are being forced to work 60, 80, even 100 hours a week just to cover the basics and keep their families afloat.
- WHEN: Monday, November 10, 2025
- TIME: 10 a.m.
- WHERE: The First Cathedral, 1151 Blue Hills Ave. Hartford
- WHY: To address struggles of healthcare workers in our state
The recent willingness by the Governor and Democratic leadership in the house to set aside funding for SNAP was an important step in safeguarding our communities against federal attacks. But the truth is, our state has been in crisis on many fronts for a long time. For years, we’ve been calling on leadership to respond to one emergency after another: food insecurity, housing, the staffing crisis in healthcare. These are not isolated moments of hardship; they are part of a system that has been in a state of emergency for years.
Faith leaders, members of their congregations, and healthcare workers will be on hand to urge legislators to take stronger action to address the struggles and fears facing our communities of faith across the state during this ongoing crisis.
